Data Saver Mode does exactly that, it minimizes the risk of eating through too much data too quickly and saves you money! Data Saver limits speed to 3Mbps – this is plenty for browsing the web, email, video chat etc. Importantly it limits "on-demand" services like Netflix to stream in standard definition instead of high definition, thus allowing 4x longer viewing for the same amount of data utilisation. The difference between SD and HD only tends to be most noticeable on TVs larger than 32 inches.
Data Saver Mode is a well worthwhile feature to switch on when watching TVs smaller than 32”.
If you decide you want an unrestricted download speed then simply move the toggle switch across and deactivate Data Saver Mode, but please be careful when streaming!

How to turn "Data Saver Mode" On / Off
The Broadband Go Service is activated by default in ‘Data Saver’ mode, which limits the upload and downloads speed to protect your data allowance from unexpected depletion through (for example but not limited to) the inadvertent watching of high-resolution video streams or unexpected software updates to devices. We strongly advise you to use your device or various application settings such as limiting the downloading of software updates if not necessary, or the resolution of video used for playback, when using our Service to protect your data allowance. Please note that if you are using a WiFi hotspot with the Broadband Go services some devices may not consider this to be a mobile service and devices may assume they are connected to a fixed WiFi service and commence data-synchronisation, software updates etc.
